Large-Scale Blocking and Massing
Large-scale blocking and massing models are useful for shoing the general location, form, character, and use for existing or proposed structures.
The geographic area of the project dictates the level of detail of massing models, to ensure an understandable visualization of both close-up and area-wide views. Roof lines are generalized and facade details (i.e. windows, doors, detailed architectural features, etc.) are usually excluded.
Large-scale blocking models are usually accompanied by more detailed models which highlight the architectural features listed above.
