City of Walker Master Plan

Intially, LSL was retained by Walker, home to over 17,000 residents and one of the principal employment centers in the metropolitan are, to complete its first Comprehensive Plan in over 20 years. It is a diverse community of many contrasts; containing older urban neighborhoods, as well as areas of new growth.

Significant areas, especially along the city's southern tier, remain undeveloped. The planning process included extensive citizen involvement, including focus groups, a community survey, and Town Meetings. A major task was to help gauge the appropriateness of a proposed regional shopping center.

LSL has continued to serve as advisors on many planning and zoning matters and most recently has assisted in updating the Walker Master Plan. The focus is on four sub-areas of the City with redevelopment playing a major role in guiding planning decisions.
