LaGrange County Subarea Plan
A consortium of local governmental agencies including
LaGrange County, Indiana and Sturgis, Michigan retained
LSL to prepare a comprehensive plan to guide the future
development of the Highway 9 Corridor.
The study area included the Interstate 80/90 Interchange,
located in LaGrange County, and a sizable Amish community.
Project elements included a comprehensive market study
to identify economic development potential; a corridor
assessment to identify existing land use, access management
issues, infrastructure needs, and future development potential;
a corridor development plan; preparation of solid
implementation strategies to foster high quality development.
The interstate nature of the project, combined with the
participation of multiple units of government and economic
development agencies, made the assignment unique and highly
challenging. |
