Farmington DDA
The City of Farmington’s downtown is a focal point
for the City and surrounding communities. However, the
Downtown has yet to reach its full potential.
LSL has helped develop a comprehensive downtown plan for
the City. The Plan creates a vibrant and identifiable core
for the downtown and highlights opportunities for in-fill
development around that core to create a concentration
of activity for the City. It identifies convenient and
creative ways to provide parking to meet demand. Finally,
it offers strategies to improve the flow of traffic through
the downtown while ensuring convenient circulation within
the Downtown for visitors.
The highly collaborative effort included City officials,
City staff, several volunteers from the community, and
the consultant team. The result was an aggressive and innovative
plan that will achieve the desired ‘face-lift’ and
revitalization for Downtown Farmington.
With LSL’s help, Farmington subsequently amended
its sign ordinance and underwent a complete update to the
Central Business District zoning regulations, which included
elements of a form based code to help implement the downtown
vision. |
