Recognizing their shared interest, eight communities within the Dowagiac River Watershed came together to formulate a plan and uniform regulations to address water quality preservation. LSL was retained to identify and address issues such as water quality protection, and farmland, open space and rural character preservation. Existing local ordinances and plans were examined and changes were recommended. LSL also worked with the individual communities to make those changes in their local ordinances.
