Dowagiac River Watershed Project

Environmental protection has always been the goal of watershed
projects, but has not always involved land use planners.
LSL is proud to play a role in bridging that gap.
LSL worked with eight communities within the Dowagiac
River Watershed, addressing an array of interconnected
issues – water quality protection, farmland preservation,
and rural open space protection. Each participating community’s
ordinances and plans were reviewed; changes were recommended;
and assistance was provided to complete those changes.
