LSL Planning prepared an update to the City of Westland’s Park and Recreation Master Plan, a plan that LSL had previously prepared. The update process involved a complete inventory of city facilities, as well as school, private recreation, and regional facilities located within and around the city.
The public was provided many opportunities for involvement throughout the process through a public open house meeting, focus group, and display at the city’s annual Winterfest. A public opinion survey was distributed at each venue.
Recommendations specified improvements to each park and community-wide initiatives to help improve the overall system. Concept plans were included for five priority parks.
