Oakland Township Parks, Recreation, and Land Preservation Plan

Oakland Township is a quiet northern Oakland County community that for years has worked very hard to protect the pristine natural environment and quality of life that is so valuable to its residents.
 
LSL’s Parks, Recreation, and Land Preservation Plan balances the residents’ desires for the preservation of open space and the demands for active recreation. There are many horse back riders, mountain bikers, hikers, nature enthusiasts and natural resource experts in the Township.

The planning process relied on successful public involvement that included a short survey, a public workshop, focus group meetings with recreation providers, a public open house, and public hearings. This approach kept residents involved and informed throughout the process.

The Plan recommends making regional connections and emphasizes environmental education.
