Working together, the transit agency (CATA), four communities, and the Michigan DOT are evaluating alternatives to invigorate this important seven mile corridor that connects the State Capitol with Michigan State University and other activity centers.
Since this corridor already has high and increasing bus ridership, transit alternatives will be evaluated including streetcars, bus rapid transit, and light rail. Transit and pedestrian-oriented development standards are also being crafted for inclusion in each community’s code.
