Elkhart Corridor Management Plans
LSL prepared Corridor Management Plans for County Road
17, County Road 9, and Indiana State Road 19 in the City
of Elkhart and Elkhart County.
The project included the
preparation of comprehensive corridor management plans
for land use and access design to improve
existing traffic operations and help ensure efficient
traffic flow and safety.
The process involved sound technical evaluation, education
of local officials and the public on the importance of
access management, and identification of available tools
to implement project recommendations.
Roadway design and land use development issues were considered
as the project advanced toward the formation of a plan.
Overlay zoning district regulations were prepared for
the city, while the county adopted the Plan as part of
its roadway design guidelines.
