Western Wayne County Transportation Plan
The Michigan Department of Transportation retained LSL Planning to create the Western Wayne County Transportation Master Plan.
The western portion of Wayne County is experiencing significant residential and commercial growth, straining the area's roadways. A multi-jurisdictional task force recognized a need for a coordinated planning approach to guide the efforts of the project.
The final plan identifies area-wide transportation deficiencies, potential for improvements to safety and mobility, and realistic funding options. The plan provides a framework for achieving a balanced, multi-modal transportation system to serve the changing needs of the western Wayne County communities. Coupling techniques such as access management and context sensitive solutions (CSS) with the recommended capacity improvements will result in a more efficient, cost-effective, and high-quality transportation environment.
