Clark-Holmes Sub-Area Plan

Ypsilanti Township, located in Washtenaw County in close proximity to Ann Arbor, is a growing community. However, the Clark Holmes subarea witnessed a decline in population that presented a challenge of stimulating additional infill development and redevelopment.

The Plan, developed by LSL, proposed strategies to stimulate development and redevelopment in this area. Guidelines were formulated to effectively integrate the development of vacant land with adjoining public spaces and surrounding neighborhoods, creating sustainable activity centers.
 
The plan comprises a comprehensive vision for the area, a demographic analysis, concept plans for two sites within the sub-area, and a set of guidelines to enhance the existing traditional neighborhood character while promoting a safe and aesthetically pleasing neighborhood, including landscaping and buffering, lighting, streetscape, and non-motorized circulation.
