Like many mature suburbs, Westland has several vacant or underutilized big box shopping centers that are past their prime and beckon to be redevelopment. Rather than continue to wait for the private sector, the city commissioned a team led by LSL to work with the business community and nearby residents to evaluate alternatives and formulate an exciting redevelopment plan.

Through a market assessment and a series of workshops, a bold concept evolved for a mixed-use development with attached residential, bordering a variety of restaurants and indoor entertainment activities. The plan has been enthusiastically embraced by the city.

Using the latest in modeling technology, LSL created a 3D digital representation of the proposed plan. The city has used videos and images from the model to market the site and let the development community know the site is ready for change.
